Super Chocolatey Hot Cocoa
Here in Texas, we don’t get much snow, so when God gives us even the smallest of flurries we all run outside to play and sometimes to take selfies. Snow is a mystical weather here, like a unicorn or a mermaid we know it exists but only get a glimpse now and then. (Since I was asked via email: To clarify I was joking about the unicorn and mermaid, I don’t think they are real except for Ariel she is so real!! Lol!) Jan of 2017 we got some snow and it actually stuck overnight and till the early afternoon of the next day. Which here is like an eternity! So we tried to make snow ice cream but didn’t succeed, the boys and I did manage to make a super chocolaty hot cocoa that they loved!
What you will need

- 4 cups Almond Milk
- Marshmallows
- Wisk, knife & a measuring cup and spoons

How to make your own Super Chocolaty Hot Cocoa
First, you will need to roughly chop your chocolate almond bark so it will melt faster. Once chopped add the chocolate to your pan. Turn the heat on low and melt slowly being cautious not to burn.
You will need to add in your sugar, cocoa, and cinnamon next.
I just dumped mine right in and gave it a stir. See how the almond bark is nice and creamy.
Very slowly add in your 4 cups of almond milk about a 1/2 cup at a time. Slowly adding your milk in will help you to not have lumps. Kids don’t like lumps!
Warm your newly added almond milk to the temperature your desire. Make sure it’s warm enough to melt the marshmallow but not hot enough to scold your child. Fine line there between warm and hot.
Hot Cocoa Marshmallow toppings
Once your Super Chocolaty Hot Cocoa is warm top with a marshmallow and sprinkle with some cinnamon or cocoa and serve! I took the boys their hot cocoa outside since they only had a limited amount of time to play and it did a great job of warming them up.
So many memories of this one day a year (if we are lucky) experience. I wish we could move up north but I’m a true Texan and I freeze at any temperature below 60.
Ryker’s hot chocolate passed that fine line of too hot, so Luke shared some of his. Whoever says boys aren’t sweet doesn’t have the pleasure of being around them. All boys are the sweetest!
