Super Easy Jolly Rancher Candy Suckers
In my daycare life sometimes you get desperate for something fun and creative to make. When I had all bigger kids (Pre-Kinder age) we had weekly themes such as Cooking, Fireman, Superhero, Tea Party, you get the picture. The whole week was planned with fun games, color pages and an all out pretend play Fun Friday!
Candy Suckers was one of our Fun Friday creations. And they LOVED IT!
What you will need
- 1 bag of Jolly Ranchers
- Sprinkles of any kind
- Lollipop sticks
- Aluminum foil
- Cookie sheet or pizza pan
- Several small bowls
- 1 spoon for each bowl
- Gallon zip lock bags
- A hammer
- Child’s chef hat is optional but so fun!
How to make your Super Easy Jolly Rancher Candy Suckers
First, unwrap each jolly rancher and dividing them out by color. Once you have at least 10 of each kind opened then it’s time to get crushing!
Open one gallon zip lock bag and insert all your unwrapped jolly ranchers of the same color. Let’s say purple. Now using your hammer smash the dickens out of those jolly ranchers till they are in small pieces like the picture below.
When you have finished your jolly smashing for one flavor pour the candy into a bowl and start again with another flavor. Keep going until you have all the colors you want for your candy suckers.
How to make candy suckers
Now the fun part!!
To make cleanup a breeze cover your cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
Next, simply spoon on your crushed candy using several colors or just one. Top with sprinkles and place your lollipop stick in the center. Top with as many sprinkles that you would like.
Done! See I told you.. super easy!
Bake in an oven at 300 degrees for 5 minutes just till the jolly ranchers are melted. Watch Closely!!!
Once melted turn each of your candy sucker sticks so that its covered with melted candy.
Don’t forget the sprinkles! IF you did its ok you can smash some in on top of the melted candy!
Let them cool and harden then.. ENJOY!
Did your kids love making these candy suckers as much as mine did?
