Take your cotton balls and cram them into your bells. See the picture below. Tweezers work the best for this.
This is to protect the actual jingle bell, because really, who wants a jingle bell necklace that doesn’t jingle? NOT ME!
An Adult need to do this!
Take your cotton stuffed bells outside and spray paint them black, let dry then flip them over and paint the other side.
I got wise on my last bell and figured out that shoving a stick through the top made it WAY easier to paint. So i’d say try it that way.
Once dry, take them inside and yank that cotton out with those tweezers.
Lace through your desired length of ribbon and tie off.
Take enough pipe cleaners to make at least 8 legs. The spider with the green eyes below actually has 12 legs. Probably the fastest spider on earth if it was alive. Anyway make how many legs your kid wants.. within reason. 🙂
Twist the legs (pipe cleaners) in the middle so they stay together.
Hot glue your legs to the top.
I actually painted the hot glue black, of course wait until it’s dry. Otherwise you will have a ooey gooey paint brush mess.
Add some eyes, color and how many is totally up to you.
I chose 2. I think it makes the spider look more cartooney. I love cartoons.
Done.
Are your kids afraid of spiders and bugs?
