Halloween Monster Sliders

Halloween food just got easier with these yummy Monster Sliders. If you’re looking for a quick weeknight meal this Halloween season or simple Halloween appetizers to take to school parties, this recipe is a true winner! The first thing to make your monster sliders is to cook the chicken, so let’s get started.

To start off you will need to prepare the chicken you chose according to package directions. If you are making homemade chicken strips or nuggets to go in you have my heart! I love to make homemade things for my kids but sometimes time runs away from me and when it does our go-to meal is some frozen chicken nuggets. This is definitely one way to make my kids “just nuggets meal” a lot less boring.

While the chicken is cooking let’s work on those Hawaiian Rolls. Those delicious rolls bring a sweetness to these easy Halloween snacks. If you can’t find Hawaiian Rolls a box of crescent rolls or dinner rolls would work great in a pinch.

To assemble, cut the slider rolls in half to separate the tops from the bottoms. Lay the bottoms on a tray or platter and set the top buns aside. Lay 1-2 pieces of chicken onto each slider bun depending on the size of each chicken strip and what will fit.

If you want tall monster sliders then stack them on top of each other. These spooky snacks are totally up to you! You decide what you want to make for your perfect finger food.

Now for the fun idea with the cheese, you can choose any white cheese that your kids will eat. Fold the square cheese slides in half to create a triangle you will need two to lay on top of the chicken.

Hanging a little bit of the ends of the triangles will look like fangs or teeth for your monster slider.  This easy treat is so much more fun with the white teeth sticking out below the top slider bun.

Monster eyes can be made out of black olives or green olives. If you only have whole olives, just slice them up straight across so you will have the whole in the center of the slices. Slide the ends of the toothpick into the sliced olive then push it into the top of the bun.

This easy snack can be so flavorful by adding Ketchup for a tongue (optional) but if you want a big flavor try BBQ sauce or whatever flavor sauce your kids love.

More fun Halloween Party Food Ideas

For extra fun for your little ghouls, you can add a spider web under the platter and spider rings hanging from one of the toothpicks on each slider. Have bowls of popcorn or these Popcorn Balls and watch some kid-version scary movies with the family while you enjoy these Halloween treats.

Make a Halloween buffet by setting out bowls with potato chips, a themed pasta salad, and some sugary treats. Make an easy pepperoni pizza rolls recipe, pizza bagels, or mini mummy meat loaves with some plastic spiders, scary eyes, and candy corn scattered around the table.

This fun Halloween recipe for dessert is some Whoopie Pies complete with candy eyes to go with your Halloween monster theme.  Create a spooky Halloween snack mix with pretzels, marshmallows, candy eyes, and some orange and black M&M’s. You can also pre-package a Halloween Chex mix recipe to go if this favorite holiday event has to end.

What Can I Put in a Halloween Monster Slider

Don’t have chicken on hand?

Slider recipes are really versatile, you can make these sliders with halved hot dogs, chicken patties, tiny ground beef, or ground turkey burgers.

This easy recipe can be changed up to fit what you have in the house, it doesn’t have to look just like the pictures. Make them like mine now and for your next Halloween party change it up a bit with some ground meat instead of chicken.

This can be a great way to teach your kids now to pivot a recipe in a pinch and it still turns out great! What kind of fun twist did you add to your Halloween Monster Sliders?
